Know About me - A fast forward from my history.

Hi I am Rakesh, a nothing but something guy. In a brief an IT geek. Stay in touch, you can know me. For some friends I am Raku, Raka for some friends, Rangaa for a couple of friends and on top of it, the sweetest of all “SONU” by my honey.  Yes, I have a GF(Girlfriend) but I will tell you about her later. I have been thinking to make a blog since 2010 when I see some of my elder brothers are doing, but since then I just postponed it… Time went on and now I wanted to keep things memorable as each day passes by through this blog. Well… writing about me, will be too lengthy I guess. I am sorry but I want to let know the world about me; not in a too detailed manner, but in a brief since my childhood to what I am today.

A brief version of this post.

My early life.

Well, I was telling you about myself... I belong to a very small town 167 Km far from the temple city called NTPC, Kaniha. My Papa is a business person, he owns a variety shop. Talking about my mom will be a never ending blog post. So in a short, as always she’s a homemaker. She used to look after my younger brother and sister and our little home. Eventually from there I carried out my schooling and completed my high school career. Being from a higher middle class family, I studied in K.V NTPC which a couple kilometers away from my home. Upto class 5 my Papa used to pick and drop to my school. Later I learnt riding bicycle and used to go school everyday by cycle.

School days are always an imminent part of our life. Those are the only moment which we recapitulate and laugh until we have our grandchildren. How can I forget my class teachers?

Me, Piyush and Nayan

Some of my school friends circle includes Piyush, Nayan, Dhiraj, Joseph, Ajit and a long list but… No matter how hard we try to keep in touch with friends but of no use. We don’t have our control on people; they will forget us as been said, OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND. If I have the power, I would not let any of my favs go… But Piyush is and always will be a part of life.

In the year 2005, we all appeared 10th exam. Exam days still images are still running a slideshow in my mind. On every exam day, our parents were praying to god for hours and telling us to do keep a coconut on a brass pot at home before leaving for exam. After exams we didn't have to wait for a long. Our results declared and we all started hunting for the next level of studies. I decided to do continue my studies in the same K.V but that time 10+2 for Science was not introduced there only commerce.

My Higher Studies in Baripada

For my higher studies, I left the place and went all the way to Baripada for 10+2. Baripada is the headquarter of Mayurbhanj district. There must be a dish running in most of our mind. Yes, the famous Mansa Moodhi (Puffed rice)…  Well, Baripada itself describes its rich culture, its people friendly climate and its nostalgic places of Raja and Maharajas. That is where my uncle aunty, my cousin brother and sisters and their in laws live. I enjoyed myself there and I appreciate my decision to go and study there. Baripada was the place where I cultivated my extracurricular activities like flirting, enjoying movies in big screens and lot of experience which are much needed to live a bachelor life like attending uninvited marriage reception, bachelor party(if you know what I mean). For us mess life is always filled with drama comedy and action. Oh did I leave “LOVE” in the list? Yes I did, I didn’t have loved anyone there but a couple of secret crushes whom now I don’t give a damn shit. J ;) . The last day of Baripada was exactly opposite of my first day there. I was very upset to leave that place. I miss this period of time because I didnt have either mobile cam nor a Kodak 500 camera to take photos of this time. Few of my friends from there have our photos but I can't get them. So sad...

My professional career.

I was undecided about what to take for further studies whether Btech or Bachelor courses later Master Course. I appeared the Orissa JEE but my rank was like some 20,000 or so. Finally I made my decision to make my career in IT. My father talks about his nephews and always suggests me to join military service like them. But I am not interested at all. We were introduced to computers in class 8^th , since then my strong interest developed towards it. Finally I joined BCA in 2007 at OCEM, Bhubaneswar. From that day onwards, I am living in Bhubaneswar. In the 1^st two semesters of BCA I was like a sincere student of the year. Made some friends, some hi-bye friends to some everlasting friends like Kanhu, Raja, Neel, Abinash (chuchu), Shiba, Mihir, Chandan. The 3^rd and 4^th semesters, went like 40% attendance and in the remaining semesters, I tasted the taste of own earned money for the first time. Once you liked the taste of money, you will go on hunting for money. Entertainment and enjoyment was never compromised on those days. Likewise I wasted the BCA final semesters, but by the blessings of god, my BCA career was not too bad. After doing BCA I have left with no choice but to continue with MCA studies. I didn’t find it a good deal to continue regular MCA rather, I opted for doing some IT job alongside distance MCA which will save time as well as money with an experience of a couple of years.

My early Job life

I joined some company (no need to mention about a worse company) in 2010 where I learned SEO skills. That was the company where I didn’t want to make my career but no one can save if you have destination tied to it. I worked there with a lot of patience for less than a year, and then I left the job to join another good company. Meanwhile I did a course on Web design and development. Can’t explain how bad that experience was. I joined another company, although that company didn’t last for a long period; we all have to leave that company. Soon after that, Sushant bhai (My Team Leader of my 1^st company) supported me to sustain in the field. Since then I am in his company. The bad side of SEO industry was that, until you are not an entrepreneur, you can’t have a career satisfaction. Hence, recently I made my plan to make a career in software development i.e. in C# Dot.net.

My Recent Past

Party Time at SMAK Solutions

I was introduced to SMAK Solutions by one of my BCA time friend Nirlipta. He inspired me to join there. I met with the MD cum CEO of SMAK Solutions Mr. Mukhtar Ali Khan. He is really a nice person (you can say a multi-talented person) I ever met. I talked with him and asked to bring some more friends for the training. He agreed to my request. In a course of 4-5 months, we have nearly completed the ASP.NET. I dont know what will happen next but if God bless on me, I want to be an employee of this company.

Before this blog, I was very active on Facebook, later I open it just to see if any friends birthday is there or any event or any new friends pic uploaded, to see if any friend has dropped a message for me, to see a lost friend sent a friend request. I have a twitter account as well but I rarely use it because, I dont have friends active on twitter except Sandeep (my colleague). I rarely use my Google+ account because I feel facebook has all my friends and I cant give them proper time on facebook, how can I manage to update both accounts? I have updated a linked profile a couple years ago but the same case (I dont have much time).

My Hobbies

My hobbies has changed time to time due to work, due to studies, due to age limitations and the most important reason I dont have time. When I was a kid, I used to watch TV, play TV videogame, reading comics, playing cricket and football, research on electronics etc. Once upon a time I was an electrician. Now mostly I listen to songs, enjoy night outs, plan for the future, photography, surf the internet, asking my doubts to Google. Watching movies does not included in my movie. 6 month from now I sold my Core2Duo PC and adding some money from Papa, I bought a Dell Laptop, it has 320GB but believe me its full of Games, photos, software applications and my work related video. You can rarely find a movie or latest songs. Recently I lost my Nokia N79, else I used to pass my leisure time with its camera and earphone plugged in.
